Oregon State and Linn-Benton Dual Partnership Program
Do you want to live on a university campus and save on tuition? Consider the OSU and LBCC partnership. It's a way to be officially enrolled at both LBCC and OSU at the same time, taking classes at either (or both), while your credits, financial aid, and campus access move with you. Done well, it's one of the more underrated strategies for saving money and easing the transfer process. Univ of Oregon has a similar program.
Oregon State University + Linn-Benton Community College
OSU's version is called the Degree Partnership Program (DPP), and it's arguably the more flexible of the two: once admitted, students get up to ten terms (roughly two years) before they're required to take a single course at OSU. Each term, you choose: LBCC only, OSU only, or a mix of both.
LBCC recently streamlined this further. Students who meet OSU's minimum transfer requirements can now be automatically admitted to OSU, no application fee or extra paperwork required.
You'll select one "home school" for financial aid purposes, even if you take classes at both.
LBCC transcripts transfer to OSU automatically at the end of each term.
OSU Ecampus (online coursework) is fair game within DPP too, useful if a commute isn't realistic.
Actionable steps:
Apply to OSU first. DPP eligibility is evaluated through that application, and LBCC doesn't require a separate one.
Once admitted, select LBCC as your dual enrollment institution, either in the application or through the student portal afterward.
Meet with an OSU advisor early to map out exactly which LBCC courses will count toward your intended major. This prevents wasted credits.
Decide on a home school for financial aid deliberately, not by default. It affects how your full aid package gets calculated.
Check with the schools for any updates or changes.
